WACPAW VOLUNTEERS IN THE UPPER EAST REGION OF GHANA TOOK PART IN THE 67TH INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE
The Wacpaw Volunteer group in Bolga in the Upper East Region of Ghana participated in the 67th Independence Day celebration of Ghana to advocate against the cruel treatment of animals in the region. (The region has been noted for poor handling of animals such as donkeys and dogs during transportation and slaughter. About 52 people voluntarily came out to take part in the March to raise awareness about animal-welfare problems in the region. They held placards with different animal welfare messages. They pledged their support at helping WACPAW to drastically reduce animal abuse and cruelty in the region. The Wacpaw team expressed gratitude to all the volunteers and encouraged them to continue to help the organization raise more awareness and advocacy on the welfare of animals being transported and slaughtered in their area. A big thanks to our partners for sponsoring this event.
