WACPAW Collaborates on Massive Tree Planting Effort
As an animal welfare organization, we recognize the important link between environmental sustainability and animal welfare. On the 19th and 20th of July,2024, our organization in collaboration with the United force for Development and Community Project Initiative embarked on a massive tree-planting exercise in two communities within the Tolon and the Sagnerigu districts all in the Northern region of Ghana. In all, 350 trees of Mahogany, Teak and Acacia were planted.
This effort aims to address climate change issues while promoting a healthier ecosystem for both humans and animals. By enhancing green cover, reducing carbon footprints, providing shelter for wildlife, and promoting biodiversity.
The program started with an educational session on the effects of climate change on the environment which extends to all living beings including humans and animals and the vital role trees play in preserving biodiversity. The trees were then planted along the boundaries of schools and clinics. The community people were thrilled and vowed to protect these trees until they grow to maturity. This program, “MY LIFE PARTNER” is an initiative committed to addressing climate change and promoting the welfare of all animals.
We are ready to collaborate with like-minded organizations to further our shared goals. Together, we can create a more sustainable and compassionate world for all living beings.
